Since 1966, the Montréal métro has been at the very heart of city life. With its 68 stations, the network oversees more than 1.2 million passenger rides every day. Many people are focused and committed to maintain the network and ensure that customers find it inviting and reliable. Beyond the work being carried out every day, the STM is continually undertaking renovation and construction work to keep the network strong.
Here are the network projects that are currently underway. To learn more about the nature of the work being done and alternative travel options, click on the station name.

Fresh air supply for workers
It is possible that you may perceive a distinctive sound coming from the job site. This noise will be coming from the ventilation system. This allows the air to be cooled inside the well. This ventilation system will be running all summer long.
In order to meet the initial project deadline, it will be necessary for work to continue on Saturdays, and on certain weekday evenings until the end of May.
We have now reached the excavation stage.
The digging of the main part of the station’s well structure has been completed. The excavation of the subterranean gallery’s horizontal section connecting the well to the métro tunnel is now underway.
