You see smoke inside a métro car

Use the intercom to alert the train operator, who will call for specially trained staff to be on hand at the next station.

You are on the platform and your child stays aboard the train

Pick up the red telephone in the Assistance bay and report the situation to the communications officer. A staff member will be waiting for your child at the next station. If you are a witness to this, report it immediately.

You are aboard the train and your child stays on the platform

If the train has pulled out of the station, use the intercom to report the problem. A staff member will comfort your child until you return.

If the train has not yet left the station, pull the emergency brake to prevent the train from leaving. The operator will reopen the doors and head for the métro car where the brake was released.

puce

You notice someone emotionally distressed or crying standing at the   edge of the platform

Pick up the red telephone in the Assistance bay and report the situation immediately. The train operator will slow down prior to entering the station, if possible, and staff will be sent over to talk to this person.

puce

 Someone is sick or injured

Report the situation by using either the red telephone in the Assistance bay or the intercom aboard the train.

puce

You fell asleep and now you are alone inside the métro car

Should that happen, just wait. The train will likely get underway again and you can get off at the next station. If not, remember that the train operator will be inspecting the train at the end of the work shift and will then be able to assist you.

In any situation, we strongly recommend that you report the incident to authorities and refrain from intervening directly.
